Your Guide to the Trims of the 2025 Soul
Are you looking at a 2025 Kia Soul for sale? This trim guide will make it easy if you’re interested in the five-door subcompact SUV that seats up to five people across two rows. It comes standard with a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder (delivering 147 hp and 132 lb-ft of torque), a continuously variable transmission, and front-wheel drive. You have an impressive fuel economy of 29 MPG in the city and 35 MPG on the highway, and up to 24.2 cu.ft. of cargo volume behind the second row, with 62.1 cu.ft. when the second row is folded down.
You can also get the Kia Soul in one of ten exterior colors and six interior designs. The exterior colors include seven solid body colors—Gravity Gray, Steel Gray, Snow White Pearl, Fusion Black, Surf Blue, Inferno Red, and Mars Orange—and three two-tone color schemes: Clear White with a Fusion Black roof, Surf Blue with a Fusion Black roof, and Inferno Red with a Fusion Black roof. The interior options include Black Woven Cloth, Black and Gray two-tone Woven Cloth, Black Tricot Cloth, Black and Gray two-tone Tricot Cloth, Umber SynTex and Cloth, and Black SynTex and Cloth. Most worth exploring, however, is that the Kia Soul is available in four different trim levels, with the first being…
The 2025 Soul LX
The LX is the Kia Soul’s entry-level trim, featuring all of the basic amenities and accessories to get the most out of the subcompact SUV. It comes equipped with 16-inch steel wheels, automatic headlight control, high beam assist, and a black grille with a silver finish. Plus, the entire trim line comes standard with roof rack mounting points for those of you planning on using it for a lot of outdoor activity.
Remote keyless entry with a vehicle immobilizer comes standard with the LX, along with power windows with one-touch auto up/down functionality, making it easy to let the breeze in during those warm days out traveling. Power locks, power-adjustable mirrors, and heated rear glass also all come standard with LX, giving you all of the necessary means to stay secure and drive conveniently on the road. Other safety measures include hill-start assist, tire pressure monitoring, electronic stability control with vehicle stability management, and rollover sensor support.
A fully robust and advanced airbag system comes standard, along with interior safety and convenience features such as LATCH anchors and tethers for child car seats. Driver attention warning, intelligent speed limit assist, and lane keeping assist all come standard, along with other active driver aids such as lane following assist, a lane departure warning, and forward collision advance with pedestrian and cyclist detection. What’s more, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance and blind-spot collision avoidance are available.
The LX is only available in solid exterior colors and features either Black Woven Cloth or Black and Gray two-tone Woven Cloth for the interior. A six-way manual driver seat and a four-way manual passenger seat come standard; they’re accompanied by an 8-inch infotainment suite, a fully digital driver instrument cluster, and a six-speaker audio system.
The 2025 Soul S
The Kia Soul S comes with all of the basic features from the LX but is a step up in terms of features, accessibility, and style. You have 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels with a unique 10-spoke rim design, replacing the steel wheels on the LX. Additionally, the Soul S not only offers all of the basic exterior colors of the LX, but you can also have it configured in a couple of two-tone exterior color schemes as well: Clear White with a Fusion Black roof or Surf Blue with a Fusion Black roof.
Inside, the material layout is limited to Black Woven Cloth trimming, but the Soul S offers some other unique features, such as smart key activation for remote keyless entry, remote start, and remote power locks. You also have access to push-button start and dual-zone automatic climate control, which is an upgrade over the basic AC in the Soul LX. The seating conveniences also see an upgrade with the Soul S, featuring an eight-way power driver seat with two-way lumbar support.
In terms of technology, the Soul S comes with interior lighting, just like the LX, but swaps out the 8-inch touchscreen for a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen with navigation support. This, of course, includes all of the standard infotainment functionality, such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as Bluetooth and SiriusXM Satellite Radio.
Another neat addition to the Soul S is the wireless phone charging and the USB data and charging ports on the front console. The Soul S also adds app access for maintenance scheduling and reminders, as well as Kia Connect. Another bonus for the Soul S is lane change assist, rear cross-traffic avoidance, and blind-spot collision avoidance all becoming standard features.
The 2025 Soul GT-Line
If you’re looking for a sporty Soul, see the GT-Line trim, which comes with all of the features from the Soul S but with plenty of added stylistic appeal that gears the Soul toward those who enjoy tuner culture. This is best exemplified by the exclusive body styling, featuring a gloss-black front grille with a chrome finish and the large 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels. There is also the sunroof that comes standard with the GT-Line, while LED multi-reflector headlights, LED taillights, LED positioning lights, and LED fog lights are available with the GT-Line Technology Package.
You have many of the amenities from the Soul S, but with a few other added features, such as heated power-adjustable side mirrors with LED turn signals, as well as a few extra safety features included in the optional GT-Line Technology Package. If you’re interested, you can bump up the safety assists with the navigation-based smart cruise control featuring stop-and-go with curve detection, as well as highway driving assist, which makes it easy to maintain distance and following rates.
When it comes to the exterior colors, the GT-Line is only available in solid colors, minus Mars Orange. For the interior, you can expect to indulge in Black SynTex and Cloth seats for the material. The GT-Line sports a standard six-way manual driver’s seat, but you can upgrade to the eight-way power driver seat with available heated front seats via the GT-Line Technology Package. A few other optional features include the dual-level cargo floor (with a cargo cover) and the leather-wrapped gear shift knob and sports-designed steering wheel. Lastly, there is a rear seat folding arm with a cup holder and the option to add a Harman Kardon 10-speaker audio system with adjustable speaker lights.
The 2025 Soul EX
If you want the best that the Soul has to offer, the EX is the way to go. This trim sports most of the features that come with the Soul GT-Line, yet with a few of its own goodies. You have the 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels in a spiffy five-spoke design, but you can swap those out for 18-inch sport wheels if you opt to turn the EX into the EX Soulmate Special Edition. There is also a power sunshade sunroof and a unique front grille design featuring a chrome finish.
While the EX lacks the optional LED lighting array of the GT-Line, it does come with the option of lower matte black cladding if you turn it into the EX Soulmate Special Edition, giving it a striking look. This cladding looks snazzy when paired with one of the two-tone color schemes. In that regard, the EX is available in all but one of the Soul’s 2025 color schemes (excluding Mars Orange); however, the two-tone options and slate of full-body color themes more than make up for the odd color out.
Additionally, the EX comes with the most interior material options, with Black Tricot Cloth, Black and Gray two-tone Tricot Cloth, or Umber SynTex and Cloth seats. Where the EX lacks some of the options available with the GT-Line Technology Package, it makes up for it with features like the heated power-adjustable side mirrors, standard eight-way power driver seat, and heated front seats; no extra packages are required. The dual-level cargo floor and cargo cover are also standard on the EX, as is LED interior lighting. You also get a 12-volt power port in the rear cargo area, giving you an extra opportunity to power electronic devices.
