Kia Telluride Configurations
The 2020 Kia Telluride is an award-winning crossover SUV that exemplifies bold luxury and outstanding power. Winner of the 2020 World Car of the Year and MotorTrend’s 2020 SUV of the Year, it has exceeded the expectations of even the most discriminating car enthusiasts.
The Telluride comes in four different configurations that will suit your personal driving lifestyle: The Kia Telluride LS, S, EX, and SX. To help you select the best Kia Telluride configuration In Knoxville, Tennessee, we compared the different trim levels based on some important factors car buyers look for when choosing their new vehicle.
2020 Kia Telluride Design
The 2020 Kia Telluride LS, S, EX, and SX all feature muscular yet sophisticated lines and curves that will give you the feeling that you’re driving a luxury SUV. The four configurations may look the same at first glance, but there are noteworthy details that differentiate each model.
The entry-level Telluride LX displays a gray tiger-nose front grille and 18″ alloy wheels (painted finish). The Telluride EX also comes with 18” alloy wheels but this time with machine finish. If you want 20” inch wheels, go with the Telluride S (machine finish alloy wheels) or the Telluride SX (black sport finish alloy wheels). The Telluride S, EX, and SX all have dark metallic front grille and dual chrome exhaust tips.
2020 Kia Telluride Color Choices
The exterior color choices are mostly similar so this is not really a major differentiating factor. The Telluride LX is available in five exterior colors (Snow White Pearl, Everlasting Silver, Gravity Grey, Ebony Black, and Sangria) while the S, EX, and SX are available in six colors with Dark Moss (green) added for these three higher models. The SX also features the exclusive Black Copper color instead of the Sangria.
2020 Kia Telluride Seating and Interiors
When it comes to interiors, the configurations offer different seating experiences with the LX and S having SOFINA leatherette trims, while the EX and SX flaunt real leather upholstery on all seat rows. With the top-of-the-line SX, you’re not limited to the gray or black leather available in the EX because you can choose from 7 color options for your seats.
The Telluride LX and EX can fit up to 8 passengers with three-row seating. The S and SX can only seat 7 passengers because the second row boasts of individual reclining captain’s chairs. You have the option with the Telluride S, however, to go with the 8-passenger three-row seating.
The Telluride S, EX, and SX also come with heated/ventilated front seats and power-adjustable driver seat with 2-way power lumbar support that allows you to personalize your driving position.
2020 Kia Telluride Sunroof and Roof Rails
The Power Sunroof and Low Profile Roof Rails are two main design features that are present in the Telluride S, EX, and SX that you won’t see in the LX. The S and EX have a Power Sunroof while the SX has a Dual Sunroof.
Having a roof rail is commonly a deciding factor for many car buyers who need an SUV to haul their outdoor gear, sporting equipment, and cargo on their vehicle’s roof. It is NOT possible to install a roof rail on the Telluride LX. If this is a necessity for you, you’ll have to go with the Telluride S or higher.
2020 Kia Telluride Performance
All four Kia Telluride configurations come with a 3.8-liter V-6 engine (291 horsepower), an eight-speed automatic transmission, and 5,000 lbs. towing power. The four configurations are available in Front-Wheel Drive or All-Wheel Drive options.
2020 Kia Telluride Tech
The Telluride LX, S, SX, and EX all come with standard tech features that will keep you connected and entertained even on the go. These standard features include Smart Key with Push Button Start, Steering-Wheel-Mounted Audio, Hands-Free Phone, Smart Cruise Control, Bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™ capability, and UVO link telematics.
The Telluride LX and X come with an 8.0-inch Touch-Screen Display while the Telluride EX and SX both have a 10.25-inch Touch-Screen Display. When it comes to sound, the LX, S, and EX have 6 audio speakers while the SX boasts of surround-sound Harman/Kardon® 10-Speaker Premium Audio.

The SX has a few additional safety upgrades such as the Parking Warning Distance – Forward feature that alerts you if there is an obstacle detected in front of your vehicle, as well as a Surround View Monitor and Blind-Spot View Monitor for better visibility.
