Get Comfortable With the 2025 Soul

As you’re shopping for a vehicle, you have a lot of decisions to make, and there are plenty of different features and options that can guide your hand. The Kia Soul is one of our favorite SUVs out there, with a stunning selection of features available that can make driving your vehicle each day much more enjoyable. As you’re looking at a Kia Soul for sale, however, you’ll quickly notice that there can be some notable differences between one trim and another when it comes to the kinds of comfort and convenience features they offer.

So today, we thought we’d help you out by going over these features and how they differ from one Kia Soul trim to the next. Note that this isn’t a full trim guide because we’re not worried about performance features or exterior options; we’re just focusing on comfort and convenience today, as looking at what you get in each trim is a simple way to keep your priorities organized.

The Kia Soul LX: A Great Starting Point

There’s no better place to start than with the standard trim of the 2025 Kia Soul and the features it brings to the road. In terms of comfort, the Soul LX has standard air conditioning to keep the interior at a comfortable temperature, along with a six-way manually adjustable driver’s seat and a four-way manual front-passenger seat. Woven cloth seating is standard, which might not be particularly luxurious, but it is quite comfortable and durable, making it a great choice for families and groups of friends. These things come together to create a rewarding starting experience, if not especially decadent.

For convenience, you get some impressive features even in the starting trim, such as remote keyless entry and a vehicle immobilizer, which makes it easy to get going without having to worry about someone stealing your car. You get a day/night rearview mirror to help you avoid being blinded by other drivers, power windows and door locks, and power-adjustable side mirrors. Basic interior lighting is standard, along with an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment display, a fully digital instrument cluster, and a six-speaker sound system. All of these systems make for a terrific SUV that is fun to drive—plus, you get the Kia Drive Wise suite of driver assistance features like Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist to help protect you and your loved ones on the road.

The Kia Soul S: A Higher Standard

Although we enjoy the starting features found in the standard Soul LX, we believe that Kia put its best foot forward with the Soul S and the numerous enhancements it brings to the road. For starters, one of the biggest improvements with the S is that you get dual-zone automatic climate control included; you find this in the next two trims that follow, too. While standard air conditioning works just fine, the advanced comfort from automatic climate control cannot be overstated, and it ensures your passengers have an improved overall experience. You also get an eight-way power driver’s seat in the Soul S with two-way lumbar adjustment, which could be worth stepping up from the LX just by itself.

In terms of convenience, you’ll find a number of upgrades here, too, starting with a larger, 10.25-inch infotainment display with navigation functionality. This larger screen is more than just an extravagance; it makes it easier to see and use the various apps that work with the Kia Soul. Having navigation included is incredibly convenient and helps you get to where you’re going. The S also has Kia Connect support through an app you can download on your phone, with remote start functionality along with pre-cooling and heating so you can get your vehicle comfortable before you even hit the road. You also get a wireless phone charger in the Soul S, making it a fantastic expression of what Kia offers.

The Kia Soul GT-Line: Unique Style and Comfort

The GT-Line for the Kia Soul has a number of features and options that are more about stylish, sporty looks and an enhanced driving experience rather than pure upgrades. Where many of the features in the S clearly improve on what comes standard, the GT-Line is more about giving you options to get the kind of interior you want. For example, the GT-Line has a six-way manual driver’s seat standard, with an eight-way power seat available, but you get SynTex and cloth seating that looks and feels amazing as a standard feature. The GT-Line also has a leather-wrapped gear shift knob, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with a sport design, and available heated front seats.

In terms of tech and convenience, we find many of the same features as the S, such as the smart key system and push-button start. The GT-Line has heated, power-adjustable side mirrors that include LED turn signals, which is nice in that it helps others see where you’re going more easily. You get a sunroof on this trim, which we love, and LED interior lighting is available but not standard here. One particularly noteworthy option is an available 10-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with a subwoofer, which you can’t get with either of the previous two trims. Unique 18-inch wheels and other exterior details make the GT-Line even more distinct, so consider this if you want a sporty-looking ride.

The Kia Soul EX: The Ultimate Expression

Finally, we come to the Kia Soul EX, which is the highest trim level, and it perfectly demonstrates the kind of sophistication offered by this SUV. Much like the S, the Soul EX comes with an eight-way power driver’s seat, but this trim comes with heated front seats and Tricot seating that is gorgeous, comfortable, and beautifully designed. This upholstery immediately sets the EX apart from other trims and this is the only Soul that comes with it, making this a great contender for our ideal SUV.

You get fantastic conveniences with the Soul EX, including a dual-level cargo floor and cargo cover that makes it easier to load up and take stuff with you. This trim comes with LED interior lighting and a sunroof as standards. Much like the GT-Line, a 10-speaker Harman Kardon sound system is available for the EX, enhancing your driving experience each day. As an extra touch, the EX is the only trim to have an exclusive Soulmate Special Edition available, which has unique 18-inch wheels, a sleek and stylish two-tone black roof, limited edition badging, a Harman Kardon premium sound system, sound-connected LED speaker lights, and exclusive Umber SynTex and cloth seating for a distinct touch of style.

Get the Comfort and Functionality You Want With the Kia Soul

As you can see, the differences from one trim level to the next can be somewhat minimal, but there are also key things to keep in mind in terms of comfort and convenience. The starting trim has standard climate control, manually adjustable seating, and an eight-inch infotainment display. Moving up to the next trim gets you dual-zone climate control, a power-adjustable front seat, a larger infotainment display, and much more. In general, this jump likely represents the biggest value in terms of getting so many enhancements to enjoy for a small increase in price, though the other two trims have plenty more to offer.
